ISS Advises of National Stevedores Strike in Brazil - UPDATE 10 June, 2014

ISS Brazil has today received notification from the Union of Shipping Companies, that the stevedores’ strike has been temporarily cancelled, due to the government agreeing to discuss their issues.

 

Should this fail, a new date has been agreed for Friday, 27 June at 10:00hrs lt.

 

ISS will continue to monitor events on behalf of customers and stakeholders and post any updates received.

ISS Brazil is advising of a potential national stevedores strike planned to commence on the 10th June 2014.

 

The indefinite strike, organised by the Union of Stevedores, is expected to affect stevedore operations in all ports across Brazil and is predicted to cause considerable delays with cargo operations from the 10th June, unless an early resolution can be reached with the Brazilian Federal Government.
