The QA & HSSE team is an integral part of ISS Group Operations, the cross-functional directorate that works with all offices globally towards achieving ISS Service Excellence.

 Health, Safety & Environmental

In addition to the Quality Management System, ISS has an extensive Environmental, Health & Safety Plan. Its aim is to support our customers in the sound management of environmental, health, and safety performance issues and also to provide a safe and healthy working environment for our staff.

At ISS, we have an admirable lost-time and injury record. However; we are vigilant against complacency that often results when incidents are infrequent.

We stress caution, safety rule compliance, the use of protective clothing and equipment when the job task warrants it and the reporting of near misses or actual events, all in an effort to prevent accidents and injuries. ISS also uses case studies from other industry incidents to remind our own staff about the importance of safety and environmental awareness.

 Security

The ISS Security Plan dovetails with the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS).

Threats to the security environment are treated seriously. Developing a culture of security awareness is key. Our local staff are drilled on the security requirements of the port and facilities within their areas of responsibility and remain security conscious. Furthermore, we maintain close working relationships with regional port and terminal security officials.
