Job description

The main purpose of being the Marine Services Manager- France is to ensure the highest level of service delivery throughout the France ports network, acting as first point of contact for all operational matters within the area of responsibility. In line with company strategy, focus and values, ensure successful execution of ISS France business plans whilst identifying opportunities for growth, the position reports to the Area General Manager – West Mediterranean

We are looking for a person with Leadership capabilities within a wide global organization, capable of leading ISS France operationally on a day-to-day basis. It requires the understanding of strict rules and regulations of a global organization and understanding and agreeing to company ethics policy.

Other than Commercial skills necessary within the shipping industry, the successful candidate will be open to initiatives, extremely service oriented towards clients, social and open minded, ready to work with various nationalities and cultures.

Key skills
  • Responsible for operational service delivery from all France port offices/locations
  • Assist in cascading group and regional strategy as appropriate
  • Ensure ISS clients receive a service level that is in accordance with in-house QA/H&S procedures
  • Monitor operations to ensure maximum quality whilst minimising cost
  • Monitor local performance in line with client based KPIs
  • Performance monitor response time scales to client and management
  • Ensure client specific working instructions are maintained and known to all operational personnel
  • Health & Safety representative for all offices in France
  • Key lead in developing a France central control point (ROC)
  • Develop and implement a France Port Agency training manual and development program
  • Identify, recognise and secure new business opportunities within each port
  • Improve visibility within regional territory of existing and potential client base
  • Undertake regular client visits
  • Conduct regular performance reviews of France offices
  • Assist Port Managers in undertaking regular meetings with terminal operators
  • Perform employee performance reviews as per company guidelines
  • Identify and support training requirements and succession planning
  • Review, update and ownership of France operations policy manual
  • Ensure France adherence to Credit & Pricing Policy
  • Approval of QA monthly data returns (by delegation from AGM)
  • Attend functions/meetings as and when required

 

Education requirements

•     Accountable for implementation and monitoring of actions to mitigate risk and enhance controls within area of responsibility to ensure the HSSE of both the job holder and other persons who may be affected by acts carried out or failed to be carried out by the job holder

•     Excellent planning and delivery skills to ensure the highest level of customer service is achieved at all times and tasks are not only met but exceeded wherever possible

•     Ability to focus commercially to maximise business opportunities

•     Proven track record in achieving KPIs and leading teams to achieve company goals

•     Demonstrable experience within Maritime industry, particularly port agency

•     Demonstrable experience of implementing and supporting key initiatives

•     Provide transparency, honesty and integrity at all times

•     Ability to successfully deliver management reports

•     Ability to travel nationally when required

•     Flexible - ability to change priorities quickly, and capacity to handle multiple tasks

•     Excellent written and verbal communication skills

•     Ability to work flexible shift patterns including weekends and bank holidays when necessary

•     Experience in selling maritime services is preferable and can be used in place of lacking formal educational qualification
