Atmospheric river over Vancouver delays port operations

An ‘atmospheric river’ over Vancouver has caused heavy rainfall, exceeding 200 mm since Saturday the 13th of November. Phone networks are down, and there are numerous landslides. Ships at anchor have not moved. All commodities are arriving into or leaving Vancouver via trains, with only a small amount by roads - infrastructure has been seriously damaged. Numerous roads, bridges, railway tracks – infrastructure to/from Vancouver are washed out. Some ships are already being diverted to Prince Rupert. We can safely expect significant delays with logistics related to cargos until repairs and cleanup operations are completed.
