Crew changes allowed in Egypt

Please note Egyptian Minister of Aviation declared officially that Egyptian international airports will resume receiving international flights as of 1st July 2020

Accordingly, please note Crew changes will be possible in Egypt under new procedures / approvals from Quarantine Authorities as follows:

On Signers:

  • Joiners arriving from countries where COVID-19 is not spreading and cases are within normal standards will be checked by quarantine at arrival airports and should personnel shows normal health condition (no fever, no COVID-19 signs….etc) he will be allowed to enter to country and proceed to port of destination. Upon arrival to port, he will be checked again by the quarantine authority doctors and will be cleared to join the vessel
  • Crew arriving from Heavily infected countries with COVID-19, will be required to present a PCR test done by crew no more than 48 hours prior to arrival to the Egyptian borders.

Off signers:

They will be allowed to disembark at Port of arrival only (meaning if vessel is transiting Suez Canal from Port Said to Suez – Southbound direction – crew will be allowed to disembark only at Port Said after vessel being cleared by quarantine and granted free pratique and after crew is also physically checked by quarantine doctors. Off signer MUST hold a confirmed E-Ticket to flyout of the country.


Only Hotels which have been cleared and certified by Quarantine and Health authorities can be used for crew accommodation should same be required. We confirm that Both hotels we are using in Cairo / Port Said have been certified and ready to receive guests in their rooms.

Curfew Timings:

Please note that current Curfew Timing is from 2000 hrs lt. to 0400 hrs lt. We are not sure yet if crew movements will be allowed / permitted during the curfew timing however we presumed that flights timings will match the curfew timings should same not be lifted by Government before 1st of July 2020 however we will keep you posted with developments with regards to this point.
