Port of Dampier – Severe Tropical Cyclone Damien – Update 6
As per latest BoM forecast the severe tropical cyclone Damien (Cat 2 system), is currently located NNE of Dampier.
The severe tropical cyclone is predicted to track southwards towards the Pilbara coast intensifying further to a category 4 and possibly Category 5 before crossing the coast on Saturday.
The Tropical Cyclone is predicted to bring heavy rainfall, strong sustained winds and significant swell to the Port of Dampier.
ALERT LEVEL: The Port of Dampier - Cyclone Stage 4 – Shut Down with effect from 1200 hours,07th Feb 2020
Dampier & Ashburton VTS will be unmanned from 1200 Hours on 07th February 2020.

The weather forecasts will continue to be monitored with further advice to be issued when a decision is made to activate “Stage 5 – Re-Open the Port”.
