Australian Maritime College ( AMC ) Career Expo in Launceston, TAS

Inchcape recently attended the Australian Maritime College ( AMC ) Career Expo in Launceston, TAS, providing a presentation to students of the Inchcape group, and providing insight into future potential careers within the Inchcape group, both  locally or globally.    The Australian Maritime College at the University of Tasmania is the national institute for maritime education, training and research. AMC is one of the seven founding members of the International Association of Maritime Universities, which represents five continents.

Representatives from 22 prominent Shipping, Defence, Engineering, and Logistics organisations attended the two-day event, which also featured presentations on industry graduate programs, resume writing and interview skills.

Professor Chai, ( AMC Principal ) said the expo aimed to foster crucial connections between industry and future graduates of AMC, whose career-relevant courses make them in demand world-wide. 
 
“The AMC Careers Expo is an excellent forum for our students to learn about the range of careers that await them in the maritime field, and for industry representatives to promote their organisations and identify new talent," Professor Chai said.  “We are pleased to this year welcome a record number of 22 exhibitors to the event, which helps reinforce Launceston’s reputation as a breeding ground for high-quality, job-ready graduates.  The qualifications that AMC offers, spanning the disciplines of coastal and ocean seafaring, maritime engineering and global logistics management, correlate closely with global demand and lead to excellent outcomes for our graduates."

With a number of employees already as historical alumni of the AMC, Inchcape were excited to be able to attend the event, and provide insight, guidance and potential opportunity to the next generation of students and graduates seeking to progress their career in the shipping industry.
