Port of Hedland, Cyclone Alert Stage 1 (Monitor)

Please find here with below important notice received from Pilbara Ports Authority, Harbour Master – Port Hedland in regards to Cyclone Alert Stage 1 (MONITOR) - Tropical Cyclone Blake (ex 02U) – Update 4.


Good morning,
The PPA – Port of Port Hedland cyclone response procedure has been activated. The Port of Port Hedland remains at Cyclone Alert Stage 1 – Monitor.
As of 0600 07 January, the BoM has issued guidance forecast for Tropical Cyclone Blake (ex-Tropical Low 02U). TC Blake is currently located approximately 40 kilometers West North West of Broome and is expected to make landfall near the 80 mile beach area over the next 24 hours. Guidance continues to indicate that Port Hedland will remain outside the radius to gales associated with this system. 

Shipping operations will continue as planned. Minor adjustments may be required over the next 48 hours based on prevalent and expected weather conditions associated with the passage of this tropical system.
The BoM guidance track map as of 0559 WST Tuesday 07 January is attached for information. PPA will continue to monitor the path of TC Blake and will provide updates as necessary.
