The Suez Canal Authority has issued Periodical No. 2/2026, which amends Article Two of Circular No. 2/2025 governing the collection and management of vessel waste in Suez Canal waters. The amendment refines the schedule of fees for non-dangerous and dangerous solid waste, as well as the charges for using a self‑propelled barge.
Revised mandatory fees
Mandatory fees now apply to all vessels and floating units for the collection and management of non‑dangerous solid wastes, calculated according to Suez Canal Net Tonnage.

Additional volumes and dangerous waste
For non‑dangerous solid waste volumes exceeding those included in the mandatory fee, and for vessels and small craft exempted from the mandatory schedule, a rate of USD 99 per additional cubic meter applies. Dangerous solid waste remains an optional service and is charged at USD 1,000 per cubic meter.
Self‑propelled barge hire and start date
The SCA has confirmed that hiring a self‑propelled barge is charged per usage, with no fee for the first hour and USD 200 for each additional hour starting from the second hour.
The amended provisions set out in Periodical No. 2/2026 will be applied from 15 April 2026.
