New Visa Requirement for Visiting Ecuador

According to the Ecuadorian Organic Law on Human Mobility, all passengers from restricted nationalities visiting Ecuador must obtain a Temporary Resident Visa, even if they do not disembark from the vessel.

It is crucial that the visa application is submitted a minimum of 20 days prior to the cruise’s arrival in Ecuadorian waters.

Requirements:

  • Valid passport with a minimum validity of six months.
  • Apostilled or legalised criminal record certificate from your country of origin or residence. If not in Spanish, it must be translated by an authorized professional.
  • Proof of sufficient funds, at least one basic salary (USD 470) shown through bank statements from the last three months.
  • Documentation that proves your destination to a third country, with Shipping Agent advisory letter.
