Since 09:30 this morning, 29 April, no tender-swaths have been available at the Wandelaar. Jol pilotings can still be carried out but remain subject to weather conditions.

Current Status

There are currently 56 ships waiting:

  • In Antwerp: 25 ships are waiting to depart the port, 1 of which is bound for North Sea Port.
  • At sea: 31 ships are waiting, all destined for Antwerp.

There are currently 3 vessels underway to and from the ports with a Flemish or Dutch pilot on board:

  • Antwerp: No incoming or outgoing ships.
  • Zeebrugge: 1 outgoing ship; no incoming ships.
  • North Sea Port: 1 outgoing and 1 incoming ship.

Antwerp:

Understaffing at the Zandvliet traffic control centre is confirmed until Wednesday, 30 April at 07:30. Consequently, all maritime traffic—including inland navigation—to and from Antwerp will be halted during this period.
Rijkswaterstaat (Netherlands) is present on the Scheldt with a patrol vessel to enforce the measures.
PoAB tug services in Antwerp are operating at 90% capacity; the locks are fully staffed but remain non-operational.

Zeebrugge:

Shipping to and from Zeebrugge is possible, but availability is very limited. Inbound, outbound, shifting, and lock usage are possible only if part of a combined voyage.

Passenger Water Transport:

  • The Sint-Anna ferry will operate today from 10:45 to 23:45 with one vessel.
  • The Bazel–Hemiksem ferry will not operate until 21:00 today.
  • The Terdonk ferry will not operate until 23:45 today.

Due to the disruption in Antwerp, the Waterbus will operate a shortened route until Wednesday, 30 April at 07:30. The stops at Lillo, Liefkenshoek, and Kallosluis will not be served.
