Following unrest linked to the general elections held on 29 October, the situation in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania remains volatile.
As of 18:00 hrs local time yesterday, the government has imposed an indefinite curfew. A nationwide internet outage is also in effect.
Operational Impact:
- Dar es Salaam terminal is closed as of midnight – NIL operations are currently taking place.
- No official notice has been issued by the terminal, but direct communication with terminal management confirms the port is not functional.
- No updates yet from other Tanzanian ports (Mtwara, Tanga).
Communication Status:
- ISS staff in Tanzania are unable to access email or report to office due to the internet outage and curfew.
- Phone lines remain operational for voice calls.
