Sydney , Port Botany and surrounds were blanketed with Smoke overnight due Hazard reduction burns being conducted by the NSW Rural Fire Services (RFS), which is reducing visibility in the harbour, causing minor delays to shipping.
NSW RFS says smoke could be expected at times throughout the week
but more burns could lead to further smoke until mid-week
Air quality in Sydney is poor and crew on vessels with asthma or a lung condition to reduce outdoor activities while smoke levels remain high. If shortness of breath or coughing develops, take reliever medicine or seek medical advice.
