Cyclone Warning Mauritius – Update

Please note that a no cyclone warning bulletin was issued at 0800hrs today. Despite a no cyclone warning, the weather condition in the port is worse than the previous days. More so, the same situation will prevail for quite some time as the cyclone warning has been removed just a few hours ago.

The weather condition in the port is as follows:

  • MCT: Long and Heavy Swells of 2.5-3.0m with shipping seas on the quay deck
  • Oil Jetty: Long and Heavy Swells of 4.0m
  • MCT entrance beacons: Long and heavy swells 4.0m
  • MPT: Long and heavy swells 2.0m
  • Wind gust: 30-40 km/hr

The situation will also worsen due tidal surges during high water expected at 1320hrs with the height of tide of some 90cm.

In view of the prevailing weather conditions, the port remains closed.
