Explosion and fire and Freeport LNG

Fire has been reported at one of the largest export LNG (Liquified Natural Gas) plant, Freeport LNG in the US.

As a result of this, the terminal is not loading at this time. There have been reports that indicate the resuming of the operations in three weeks but no official confirmation from the terminal directly.

The pilots advise no backlog of vessels waiting to call FLNG, and they do not know when operations will resume.

The fire is out, and the vessel that was alongside at the time, the Elisa Larus, has departed. There were no casualties or injuries as a result of the fire.

We will keep you updated with more information regarding the same.
