Panama Canal Authority has advised that there was fire alert in one of the machinery tunnels of the Miraflores locks. There are no injuries, however ship traffic through this lock has been suspended temporarily as a security measure.
The Panama Canal Fire Department is working on the incident.
The rest of the locks are working in normal conditions.
Operations are expected to resume 16.12.2022.
