We are pleased to announce that vessels transiting southbound through the Suez Canal now have the option to replenish their bunkers at Port Said outer anchorage. This new facility offers a significant advantage to vessel owners as they can avoid dropping anchor at Suez after completing the SC transit, thus saving time and extra charges.
At Port Said, approved physical suppliers can provide the following grades of bunker: HSFO max 3.5% sulphur, VLSFO max 0.5% sulphur, and MGO max 0.1% sulphur. Previously, bunkers were available in Port Said, but on a very limited scale i.e. into the inner harbour/alongside only. However, with the new licensed physical supplier owning suitable barges for sailing to Port Said outer anchorage, the required bunker quantities can now be secured.
To book your bunkers, you can go through your normal channels of contacting bunker brokers. Inchcape will be notified to liaise with the physical bunker suppliers locally and arrange the required bunker permissions with the local authorities.
