Mr. Lieutenant General/Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority has issued a notice to introduce a Value Added Tax (VAT) of 14% on top of all invoices for services rendered by Canal Mooring and Lights company. This VAT will apply to ships transiting the Suez Canal channel and calling the ports of Port Said, Suez, Ain Sokhna, and Sharm El Sheikh.
Implementation will commence on all invoices from November 19, 2023.
