Industrial Action planned for all DP World’s Australian Container Terminals

Dear valued customer,

Please find herewith below Customer Update received from DP World with regards to Industrial Action planned by the Construction, Forestry, Maritime, Metalworkers & Energy Workers’ Union (CFMMEU) taking place across all DP World’s Australian Container Terminals.

Quote:

Notice to customer
Disappointingly, the CFMMEU (Union) has notified DP World Australia (DPWA) of a further round of industrial action across our terminals. This come after the Union's decision to block an in-principle agreement reached between employee representatives and DPWA on 17 October. This agreement had settled all outstanding claims between parties and would have renewed our enterprise agreement across all DPWA terminals.

The renewed industrial action is in support of new claims by the Union that are untenable for DPWA. If we were to agree to them, our ability to service customers such as yourself would be seriously impacted, now and into the future.

I can assure you that we will do all we can to mitigate the impact of industrial action on your service, while we vigorously take whatever action is necessary and appropriate to have the industrial action stopped.

During this time, your ongoing support is vitally important to DPWA, particularly as we seek to have industrial action stopped, the new claims removed, and an in-principle agreement implemented.

Thank you for your understanding. We will provide you with more information as it becomes relevant.

Regards,
Andrew Adam
Chief Operating Officer, Terminals
