Tuesday, January 23, 2024: Complete Channel Closure of the Mississippi River from 0700 hours to 1900 hours for all vessel traffic from Mile 2 Above Head of Passes to Mile 0 (Head of Passes). This closure will be utilised by Weeks Marine to remove the submerged dredge pipeline that crosses under the Ship Channel from east to west. Weeks anticipates completely removing the pipeline during this closure. If successful, there will be no further impacts to navigation, nor a need for the backup closure.
