Rio Grande access channel and terminal draft have been increased to 12.80 meters as of July 23rd
The draft had been decreased due to flooding in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, which caused sediment accumulation and reduced water depth.
As per the latest survey, vessel transit will be allowed up to 12.80 meters at Rio Grande Super Porto Area, Grain Terminals, and Container Terminal.
Once the access channel and terminals are dredged, the draft may return to the normal standard of 14.50 meters maximum (each terminal has its own individual draft limitation).
