Belgian trade unions are staging strikes and a day of action on Wednesday 9 November. As the railway company announces on its website, there may be disruptions to train traffic from November 8 at 22 p.m. to November 9 at 22 p.m. Restrictions are also to be expected at the airports, in particular Brussels-Zaventem and Brussels-Charleroi.

In addition, drivers must be prepared for traffic obstructions. The reason for the unions calling for a strike is rising energy costs, as Check24 reports.

Airline passengers are advised to confirm their flight prior to travel. Train passengers should also find out in good time on the day before the strike whether the selected connection will run on the day of the strike and what alternatives are offered in the event of a cancellation.
