Port operations in Hong Kong are currently suspended due to the approach of Tropical Storm Toraji.
The No. 8 Northeast Gale or Storm Signal is in force (issued on 13 Nov 2024 23:10)
At 8 a.m. 14 Nov, Tropical Storm Toraji was centred about 130 kilometres south of Hong Kong (near 21.1 degrees north 114.1 degrees east) and is forecast to move west slowly across the seas south of Hong Kong.
Toraji begin to weaken and will depart from Hong Kong. Local winds are expected to moderate gradually. The Observatory will issue the Strong Wind Signal, No. 3 at 10:20 a.m. 14 Nov.
Locally, there will be occasional squally showers today. Seas are very rough with swells.
