On 14th June 2024 at about 1440hrs, a Norwegian-flagged dredger, “Vox Maxima”, collided with a stationary Singapore-flagged bunker vessel, “Marine Honour”, which was alongside a container vessel berthed at the Pasir Panjang Terminal.
The allision between the two vessels resulted in an oil spill from the damaged tank of “Marine Honour”. Operations to contain the spill from the dredger, Vox Maxima, and the bunker vessel, Marine Honour, are ongoing. There are no reported injuries.
The oil spill from the vessel has been contained, and there is no further leak. The oil that escaped from the damaged tank has been treated with dispersants.
In a media statement issued by the Maritime and Port Authority (MPA), there is no impact on navigational traffic.
Berthing operations at Pasir Panjang Terminal remain unaffected.
As of 1.30 pm on Sunday, June 16th, no oil slick has been reported in the Traffic Separation Scheme of the Singapore Strait, and navigation remains unaffected. Port operations are also carrying on as normal.
