New Procedure for Crew Changes in the Suez Canal

The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) has announced the availability of comprehensive logistics for carrying out crew changes inside the Suez Canal at Ismailia. Agents will utilise the SCA boat, which will accommodate eight persons and is equipped with life jackets.

Additionally, crew members will use the facilities at the yacht marina in Ismailia during the waiting time.

Crew sign-on and sign-off can be arranged while vessels are passing by Ismailia station or anchored at Temsah loop and Great Bitter Lakes, for both northbound and southbound convoy vessels.

Agents will need the full crew details and copies of their passports at least 24 hours prior to the ship’s arrival.

This procedure is preferably utilised for urgent or unplanned crew changes due to the tight time limits to carry out the crew changes and the high costs of SCA boats.
