7.8 Magnitude Earthquake in Turkey

A powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit southern Turkey, Monday morning local time, 23 kilometres (14.2 miles)east of Nurdagi, Gaziantep province, at a depth of 24.1 kilometres (14.9 miles). Nurdagi is located along the Turkey-Syria border, and the quake was felt in several countries across the region, including Syria and Lebanon.

Local port status:

Mersin – All Ports: Operations continue. None of the ports in this location have stopped operations due to the earthquake.

IskenderunBotas BTC terminal; has stopped operations due to severe weather conditions. Port Crises will meet to decide how operations will be after the weather conditions have improved. We are waiting for an announcement today, late afternoon or tomorrow. 

Toros Terminal: The port has decided to move vessels to anchorage. The port is not currently operating. Toros Terminal will decide how to proceed tomorrow depending on the situation.

Iskenderun Port: We are still trying to contact port management, but communication with that location is still very difficult.  As far as we can tell, operations have stopped for the moment. The status will be updated as soon as more information is known. 

Airports :

Adana Airport: is operating normally. 

Hatay Airport: There is damage to the runway, therefore operations have stopped.
